Guacamole que hice con mi madre. |
Welcome! I'm Marlyn (Mar-leen) and I'm a junior at Princeton University. I'm learning how to cook this summer in far-away Latin American countries with the assistance of Princeton and kind people who agreed to help me (thanks! you're helping me stop eating junk food). I was inspired by my mother who always kicked me out of her kitchen. She loves to cook Mexican food but does it all by memory without recipes. I would like to transcribe family recipes that have been passed down through generations by word of mouth but perhaps were never written down. I'll start with recipes from other countries before returning to Chicago to transcribe my own mother's recipes. Above all, this blog is a digital cookbook so you can try new food if you wish. Regularly, I will try to include stories about the people I meet or the places I visit. I will write in Spanish but will also do translations for non-Spanish speakers. Yay for yummy food!
